As you know, Google is the most popular website which is used to search for information all around the world. You can find a lot of information with only one quick click “Search”. The Google’s results will depend almost on your typing words in the search box. By knowing how to use Google search effectively, you can find what you are looking for without wasting so much time. These are some useful tips which might help:
- Use the words or phrases to type in the search box instead of sentences. This will help you find the information you are looking for more easily. For example, if you can type: “money definition” instead of “How can you definite money?”
- When you want to look for a specific phrase, you should use quotation marks. For example, when you search [American idioms], the results will conclude American idioms, American poems, American dreams… or common idioms, useful idioms… But when you put it in quotation marks“American idioms”, the result will list all websites which has the phrases “American idioms”.
- Use the words which you want to look for information. For example, type “lyric: My heart will go on” if you want to search a lyric, type “movie: The Proposal” of you want to get information about the movie, type “define: money” if you want to search for the definition of money or something else…
- You can also search by file type. It can help you find a specific document. For example: “party system.pdf” or “party system.doc” or “my heart will go on mp3”…
- You can also search for a phrase in a fixed website. For example, type[financial problems] site: bbc.co.uk
